Sunday in SoHo

Sorry this is going to be a long post!

Last night was so much fun. We met up with our friend Regan who just moved to NYC in December to pursue her acting career. We went downstairs to the hotel lobby to get a drink before dinner. I ordered a glass of Red Zinfandel and snacked on goldfish and nuts as I sipped my wine and enjoyed the piano music. We got the star treatment at Trattoria Dell'Arte, because we are all graduating in a few months. The manager and director gave us a free bottle of champagne and filled us in on all the NYC hot spots. They told us Beyonce and Jay-Z were regulars at the restaurant! I split a whole wheat vegetable pizza with another girl. The crust was so thin and reminded me of the pizza in Italy. I loved that they used asparagus to divide the pizza slice into sections.

Cheers!

Today has been the best day! It started out with a 30 minute run in Central Park with two of the other girls on the trip. I was worried it would be too cold to run outside, but it felt great. I ate a banana with a packet of Barney Butter before I left and walked to get coffee at Le Pain Quitodien. I fell in love with this place as soon as I walked in. The coffee was great and all of the different breads and pastries looked so fresh. We plan to go back for breakfast tomorrow! When I got back, I ate a Kashi Dark Mocha Almond bar to tide me over until lunch.

We took the subway to Soho and ate brunch at Nolita House. This restaurant had such a cool atmosphere and had the feel of a local neighborhood hangout. There was even a fun bluegrass band playing music! The food was equally impressive. I ordered the Mediterranean Baked Eggs, which was two eggs served over ratatouille, spinach, and cheddar with herbed flatbread. I received a complimentary mimosa with my meal!

After lunch, we walked around Soho. Highlights included the Tory Burch store, Lululemon, and the Kate Spade store. I bought a candle at a cool store called Love Adorned and shipped a tan Tory Burch purse home. I would call it a successful day!

Outside Kate Spade!

Thought this flower stand was pretty!

After shopping all afternoon, we stopped for a snack at Billy's Bakery. I ordered a gingerbread and butterscotch cookie and hot tea. The cashier gave me an extra cookie, because there were only two left and he wanted to get rid of them. They were delish! I stole a bite of Laura and Ann's pumpkin whoopie pie, which was also fabulous.

We just got back from dinner at Quality Meats and walking around Times Square. Check back tomorrow for updates from tonight!
